CeO 2 , Cu 0.05 Ce 0.95 O 2-δ Ni 0.04 0.96 0.90 catalysts were synthesised via solution combustion technique using urea as a fuel. The pre-preared characterised X-ray powder diffraction, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface area analysis, transmission and scanning electron microscopy analysis. characterisation techniques strongly suggested that all the prepared successfully, copper nickel successfully incorporated into lattice structure of ceria. effect reaction conditions on catalytic properties material studied in detail model catalyst. temperature, solvents co-oxidants was investigated optimisation studies. A combination acetonitrile, tert-butyl hydroperoxide temperature 60 °C found to be optimal after 24 hours used for catalysts. All active styrene oxidation under these conditions, with conversion high 69% over selectivity benzaldehyde oxide 38 26% respectively.

Determination of albumin and hemoglobin adducts in workers exposed to styrene and styrene oxide.

Hemoglobin and albumin adducts of the carcinogen styrene-7,8-oxide (SO) were measured in 48 workers exposed to both styrene and SO in a boat manufacturing plant. Personal exposures to both substances were measured repeatedly over the course of 1 year (styrene:0.9-235 mg/m3 with a mean of 64.3 mg/m3 for 48 subjects; S0: 13.4-525 mu g/m3 with a mean of 159 mu g/m3 for 20 subjects). Cysteine and c...

Diesel soot combustion ceria catalysts

This review article summarizes the contents of the keynote lecture with the same tittle presented at the 7 th edition of the International Conference on Environmental Catalysis hold in Lyon (France) in September 2012. Different aspects of the ceria-catalyzed Diesel soot combustion reactions have been critically discussed, such as the high catalytic activity of ceria for Diesel soot combustion i...

Styrene-7,8-oxide burden in ventilated, perfused lungs of mice and rats exposed to vaporous styrene.

Styrene (ST) is an important industrial chemical. In long-term inhalation studies, ST-induced lung tumors in mice but not in rats. To test the hypothesis that the lung burden by the reactive metabolite styrene-7,8-oxide (SO) would be most relevant for the species-specific tumorigenicity, we investigated the SO burden in isolated lungs of male Sprague-Dawley rats and in-situ prepared lungs of ma...

The metabolism of phenethyl bromide, styrene and styrene oxide in the rabbit and rat.

1. The chief sulphur-containing metabolite of styrene and sytrene oxide in the rabbit and rat is chromatographically identical with N-acetyl-S-(beta-hydroxyphenethyl)-l-cysteine and this compound is also formed, together with N-acetyl-S-phenethyl-l-cysteine, as a metabolite of phenethyl bromide. 2. The amounts of the phenethylmercapturic acid and its hydroxy derivative excreted in the urine of ...
